Nestler 23aR longer midsize 40cm 16″ slide rule 1940 Germany

This is the Nestler 23aR that measures a very interesting 40 cm or 16 inches long! We know the standard Nestler Rietz 23R as an all time favorite and the long Nestler 50 cm or 20″ model 24a. This 23aR seems to be a beautiful version in between like a BIG 23R. It is mentioned in the Nestler 1938 Catalog you can find here but without this large cursor with 3 hairlines…so I am guesstimating this one to be late 1940’s, also no screws in the construction. Tables on the back in French. It’s has signs of normal use and is overall in good condition with some darkening of the white laminate and dulling of the cursor frame. It comes in the complete cardboard Nestler container which is marked with the model number, complete with obvious wear from storage.
