Out of stock
From somewhere just before or made during World War II. In Germany for the German army. It has the code CME in the stock which is for Gebr. Wichmann which had many slide rules made by Faber Castell and this one has all the features of a Faber Castell from that period. Besides that is was made to specific military specs. It has of course the lay out for military usage (targeting of long range weapons) and called the “Richtschieber” which translates to aiming slide rule. It has scales on both sides of the slider and instructions on the back. There are also 2 map scales on top and a centimeter scale on the bottom. It is heavy quality build with extra indentations on the small sides of the slider to keep it from falling out (there are small springs that fall into these indentations). There are also 2 plastic semi circles on the bottom of the body to prevent the heavy duty cursors from sliding off (left one is missing). It is completely working and in good condition with clear signs of normal use and age (some yellowing to the stock). It comes in the original very study leather pouch that show signs of use and age as well. It measures in impressive 25 x 6 com or 10 x 2 1/4 inches.
