This cool storage tin is a real piece of history. The box was made around 1895 in America and shows a group of eight African-Americans playing biljarts / pool game Pictures from Currier & Ives Darktown prints for the funny story “Got ’em Both” from 1882. The figures are depicted strongly stereotyped, there are three scenes on the tint. The tin has heavy signs of use and age but is all complete and the pictures still tell the story. It measures 18,5 x 11 x 9 cm or 7,3 x 4,4 x 3,5 inches. Check the attached youtube video for some vintage black man stuff!
